A New Fashion Favourite for Maya

This is not a favourite fashion trend for Maya now tho she did ask for one with Hello Kitty on it.. Somehow after more than 3 weeks of endless runny nose, cough and intermitten fever, it finally showed it's first few signs late yesterday evening.. - spots around her mouth.

I thought it was a bout of rash brought upon some milk stains etc but noticed the blisters appearing in her mouth right after school this morning and rushed to the Polyclinic for a check-up. The aunty at the registration counter had a sudden rush/urgency the moment I uttered the word "Hand Foot and Mouth Disease".. In a flash she started taking us to this room then that.. She started to share the same fashion as Maya - all decked in Mask and Rubber Gloves.. I had to entice Maya with all the funny faces she could make behind the mask just so she would put it on as instructed by the aunty.

So, a check by the not-so-professional-lookin-doctor, i mean.. She actually thought it was just mere blisters in her mouth (!?) and a check on her hands and feet, we finally could spot one or two here and there and finally, it's confirmed. Maya's got it.. :( a second HFMD in her life now.. the first being in her one year old stage in KL.. and now this :(

It's gonna be a tough few days for us all now espcially with lil Mia around - Mia's been down with runny nose and cough too.. It's been hard trying to make them both stay 'not too close' with each other for fear of infection.. but i'm sure all will be fine *god's willing* now that we've stepped up on our washing hands and sanitizing ourselves often..

So i guess no holiday celebration for us all.. staying indoors is all we could do for the next ten days.. but we'll keep our usual cheeky spirits high no matter wat :)
